SUPPORT OUR MISSION
The success of The City Center and its mission to house at-risk families in the Greater Ventura area comes down to the contributions of our wonderful community. All of this takes money. Sometimes we fail to mention our monetary needs. To put it plain and simple – our mission needs money. Quite a bit of it, actually. So, we’re asking that you prayerfully consider giving, as a corporation or individual, a one-time or recurring donation to help us move our mission forward. Together we can house every at-risk family in Ventura County and change lives in the process!
If you’d prefer to mail in a donation, please P.O. Box 24156 Ventura, Ca,. 93002

Are you Over 70½?
For those over 70 ½ who have an Individual Retirement Account, there are tax benefits for gifting some of your IRA directly to church.
• You must be over 70 ½ at the time of the gift.
• For the gift to be tax free to you, the gift must come directly from your IRA to City Center Transitional Living, not payable to you. Instruct the IRA custodian to send the funds to City Center. If you have an IRA checkbook, write the check payable to City Center.
• Charitable Gifts count toward your annual IRA required minimum distribution (RMD).
• Although you do not get a charitable tax deduction, neither is the distribution taxable to you – which has the same effect. For those who cannot itemize their deductions for tax purposes, this is a better tax plan for donations.
• This rule does not apply to Roth IRAs, 401(k)’s, etc.
The City Center is also pleased to receive your donation of stocks, mutual funds, or other investment vehicles such as charitable remainder trusts.

Sponsor a Room
The City Center Transitional Living currently has 30 rooms that are used to house homeless families, including graduate units. One of the rooms houses a learning center so children who live at the City Center can get after-school help. There is also a room devoted to case management.
Would you please consider sponsoring a room this year in the amount of $7,500? Your contribution assists us in keeping a homeless family off the streets of Ventura County for an entire year. You are truly a valued partner on this journey to end homelessness. There are usually 80 people living at The City Center and 50 of them are children – all of them were homeless. We give them temporary housing, where they can feel safe, find stability, obtain employment and develop the life skills necessary to successfully move out into their own living situations.
The City Center is one of Ventura’s transitional housing center that does not receive government funding. We truly offer a hand-up . . . not just a hand-out . . . through extensive case management, counseling and mentoring. We provide housing with a goal of transitioning a resident out of the program in one to two years. Upon graduation from phase one, they may enter our graduate program, where they receive continued support during the critical transition from The City Center into the “real world”.
I am inviting you to begin your room sponsorship for a year. Your name will be placed on the plaque outside of the residents’ room which allows our resident and staff to pray for you on a continual basis. As a room sponsor, you will be acknowledged on our website and our Weekly Newsletter. You will also be invited to our annual Ribbon Cutting as we cut the ribbon for your room. We will ask that you say a few words as to why you sponsor a room at TCC. We would like to honor you and say thank you for your partnership.
Generous sponsors like you are the key to our success and make it possible for us to provide transitional living for our residents, equipping them to rebuild their lives for self-sufficiency. Your contribution to our non-profit 501(c)3 organization is tax deductible. Thank you for considering your sponsorship for this upcoming 12 months.
